Twin Lakes Pitou Charente
OK I admit -- I like this place a lot
The fish are not ginormous but are good scrappers and nice looking fish
finally got here May 2007
Campsite Site details
10 or 16 amp electric check for Reverse Polarity Good size pitches with grassy area for tents and overspill field too. Pitches divided the usual French way with hedges and trees. There is a BBQ built and free to use but Gas grills are allowed no Charcoal BBQ’s on pitch
Bar (with DRAUGHT Guiness and JOHN SMITHS) and Snacks available usually until 11pm
The caravan site has two fishing lakes. The top lake, which is set in, the wooded area is mainly for experienced fishermen, with Carp at 23lb plus. A small daily fee is charged for this and all catches must be released. In May 2005 within 3 hours one of our guests bagged a total catch of 140lb. He was so pleased with the fishing on site he booked again for later in the year bringing the whole family for a holiday in France.
The bottom lake is of mixed fish but mostly Carp fish of up to 35lb caught in 2008
and is free of charge to all guests in our mobile homes and 6€ for Caravanner's /campers gain our policy is catch and release.
The lake is an ideal spot for eating out at night on the island where picnic benches are set aside for such activities (how romantic no night fishing though).
If you wish to go fishing elsewhere in France, you are required to obtain a fishing permit from the local fishing tackle shop a short drive away in Montendre. There are lots of ideal locations for day fishing in Charente Maritime, which we are more than happy to help with.
top lake
27lb 8oz
24lb 5oz
the platform where the two fish above were caught -- next to the bar

Sarcasm not needed but understood
The campsite is owned by a Sheffield Bloke (Garry) who is developing this pair of lakes into a decent Carp fishery
and NO we do have accreditted scales yea of little faith I would post weights if I thought they were wrong
Agree that Silver Diamond looks smaller than the weight and we even weighed her on 2 sets of scales but she has been caught again this year already and weighs in at 29lb. Yes not a whopper but the place is growing and I suggest you give it a try someday it's only a 6 hour drive from Calais
Re: Twin Lakes Pitou Charente
No sorry still not convinced me of little faith lol....
I was gonna post fish of them weights which i have caught just for you to se that my fish at them weights are alot larger infact huge compared to them pasties....
Another point i wanna make is the fact that the guy can get his fingers round the tails of that so call specimen lol..
I and others have experianced that small fish are easily grabbed and held in tho's ways
And it sounds and defo looks like them kitchen scales need binning madcaravan and invest in a proper pair ok.
i know when you get older money is more of an issue but its well worth the shell out..because weighing a fish at a wrong weight is only fooling yourself and not others matey
here's a link for you fella.....

Twin Lakes - mad Caravanner
Welcome to the forum mad caravanner. Nice review of Twin lakes as well.
Sometimes big carp look small in photos and sometimes small carp look big. All depends on angle taken, closenes to fish, type of pose and if your holding the fish out from your body or cuddling it like I often make the mistake of.

Re: Twin Lakes Pitou Charente
Twin Lakes your venue looks pretty but I would strongly advise you that you are doing yourself no favours with blagging the size of your fish. Honesty is truly the only way to go, be honest about your venue, your stock and the size of your fish.
Just another small piece of advice, try and ensure that all fish are photographed as near the ground as possible and over a decent unhooking mats I noticed on your gallery several of your clients were standing holding them, carp flip and a fall to the ground would result in injury or death.

Ok
I posted the wrong link could be less of a bully and let me know so I could correct it what happened to netiquette your response was more like a troll we used to suffer on newsgroups
To be quite honest I did feel like saying "SOD IT" and let you wallow in your own success
but some of us only found carp fishing recently and are still learning it (yes only been carp fishing for 2 years since I visited Twin Lakes)
this is the correct 24lb fish
it is 24lb 8oz on the scales
Yes the 27lb fish doesn't look 27 we didn't believe it either but as I have said it has already been caught this year at 29lb
by this guy
and when I get home I have few more nice fish -not whales out growing their pond but fish that can give you a fight and leave you pleasantly happy whilst you are rinking your beer later at the bar by the waters edge
AND please my name is GRAY do not try to wind me up further by abbreviations 'cos my user name is too long for you

Censoring Posts
Gray
I could have got involved and censored both sides arguements. but we live in a democracy and I believe both parties should have free speech.
I would be wrong to only censor Wrongenuk's arguement and leave your side in i.e (for example I could have censored the pics of you holding fish above your waist but I did not.)
I would prefer not to censor and let others educate anglers in their mistakes as thats the only way we are going to learn?
