I don't know, maybe I'm being a bit thick here, and everyone will say "Well, der, that's pretty obvious!"

But someone pointed out to me today, that even though it aint yet winter, and it's warm, if not dry, you should still put the second skin on your bivvy (assuming it's got one) when you set up to fish. Why? Well, the very fact, that it's not been a very dry summer, thus far, means you're likely to get your bivvy wet, and it's far easier to hang the second (winter) skin on the line to dry, than it is to set up the bivvy on the lawn, to dry.

I hadn't thought of that. Good tip though. Well, I thought so.
