Rigs for a Simpleton....
Chod Rigs, Helecoptor Rig, Zig Rig and so on....
What do i use and when, im pretty new to this and tend to just use inline rigs and helecoptor rigs, i have recently learnt to tie the knotless knot
what rig would be best for me to start on as i really want to progress my carp fishing

Re: Rigs for a Simpleton....
Dont get involved with all these fancy rigs, ...they are there to catch the angler not the fish
its where you place it that counts ...so a standard hair rig in a feeding spot is all you will need trust me Im a coach

But he's talking sence just the humble knotless for all your presentations are cool for pop or bottom baits.....
sometimes the good old green wool and bent size 4 nail is a simplton rig and been used for years fella
Re: Rigs for a Simpleton....
i use knotless knot in 95% of my hook ties, total faith in it.
there are some great books out there for info on rigs etc etc, not just the new ones either.....

I have to agree with Big Ron keep it simple the fish dont read Total carp mag, A simple hair rig with safty clip lead is all you need in most cases also depending on the water try the good old fashioned free line in the margins, most carp anglers today would have a heart attack just thinking about this but it is deadly and never spooks the fish close in, its well under rated with a piece of meat etc and all you need it a size 6 or 8 hook very complicated.
