Have to agree with what your saying Big Ron,,Ive done my time with chopping and changing baits and i still see anglers now using the latest get a carp on the bank bait..And think your not thinking this bait thing through and have a little chuckle under my breath at them numptys lol..
Ive been using the same bait for a fair few years now,was on premierbaits and still fish one of there baits thats not on the shelf anymore and im running out of it fast lol.(i break it out most winters, single hook baits lol lol)
But for me its all catcherbaits 2 different combo's from them and like you say if i dont catch then it werent my day or in the right place..
I have 4 flavours and two for winter and two for summer...end of
my new Bivvi bia-atch is going through the what bait stage and she been having good success on baits from the ..."the edge baits company"...good luck to her, i even wangled an 26lb 8oz on her bait last trip out lol,but dont tell no one lmao
Re: Hunter Quality Carp Foods
Ron.... Why are you aiming that comment at me dude?.... Its not that easy to get a bite... Keep angling big man!!
As for bait.. Any angler who's been around abit, should know that a good quality bait is of the upmost importance...
Some use Premier, some use mainline some use nash and some use Hunter.. All down to personal choice i guess..
As long as the punter is happy with his purchase, happy with the quality, and a quick 'under the nose test' and most of all happy it catches them afew nice fish, then who is anyone to argue with that??
Best wishes

Re: Hunter Quality Carp Foods
Colin, I think you'll find that Ron is saying that all the nice smells ect are for the angler rather than the fish, lets face it a carp doesn't know that a strawberry boilie is strawberry, it does know however that the correct balance of the correct acids and oils make the bait attractive to it. As you are well aware, that's just the start, then there are things like Kelp, aminos, super aminos, fishmeals birdfood, to be fair that's more your area of expertise than mine.
I think that the point being made was more along the lines that the nice bannana, strawberry whatever smell is more a punter hunter than a carp attraction, I am sure a seasoned angler like Big Ron (let me catch a few big fekers like you have fella) is aware it's what you guys use to make the smells that count.
Anyway you never replied to my 2nd PM LOL.
Rich.

as I posted above " yes we all like to have a good quality bait ...but its were you put it that counts ( IMOP ) "
as for getting a bite LOL ....That has never been a problem for me which ever bait Im using at the time ....as I know where to put it
if it was just the bait that catches you the fish ( not the angler ) why are there so many that strugle on their waters ? when they are buying ....Premier,mainline,nash or even Hunter
as my new son LOL said above

YES they are attracted to the correct make up .....but you could have the best bait in the world and if you place it in the wrong area of the water you are fishing what will it catch you ????
