Licence Dodgers? Empty Licence Dodgers?

Post  Admin Sun Apr 19, 2009 6:34 pm

Just seen that some guy got fined 500 quid for only having 1 licence for 4 rods! Seems harsh ! How many times have you been asked for your rod licence? Ive been asked for mine twice is about 28 years of fishing!

I have been asked twice in the last 6 years, I don't mind owning one, having to buy one or being asked for it. I do begrudge a feking EA Baillif spending 2 hours to get to a venue 1 hour walking around it to catch maybe 1 or 2 people when all they have to do is walk around the local lake or a stretch of the Thames and they will catch 20 to 30 europeans with no liscence and eating what they catch.

Licence Dodgers? Empty Rod licence

Post  Jim Mon May 04, 2009 9:33 am

I've been asked maybe half a dozen times in the last 40 years. I do believe you should have a license though, (I think a test to get it, wouldn't be a bad idea, either) and I wouldn't fish three rods without 2 licenses. However, I agree that bailiffs should make more effort to catch the foreigners who are poaching our fish (in more ways than one) and impose hard penalties on them. It always seems that the worst offenders get away with it all the time. I bet if I forgot to buy a license one year, I'd get caught straight away! (I buy mine standing order, so that shouldn't happen)
